Faculty Conversation: Water Quality Monitoring and Citizen Science
Caterina Panzeca, assistant professor of environmental science, will give the first faculty conversation of the spring semester, "Water Quality Monitoring and Citizen Science: A Capstone Experience in Marine Environmental Science."
Field Methods in Environmental Science is a capstone course in the Marine Environmental Science Program centered on fieldwork and its many components: sample collection, analysis and communication. The course provides a multidisciplinary and collaborative approach to addressing the environmental issue of water quality in the East River. Fieldwork is particularly critical for marine scientists, and Dr. Panzeca will discuss how the course has evolved, and sharing challenges and successes.
The conversation will be in the active learning classroom in the Academic Success Center of Stephen B. Luce Library.
Refreshments will be served.
